So, it's finally Friday! Rainy, but I'll take it anyway. Hoping for a nice weekend since we are still scheduled to go pumpkin picking on Sunday.
Hubby and I were supposed to go out to dinner on Saturday night (he got a gift certificate from my mom for his birthday), but my sitter opted to ruin my plans by choosing a birthday party over watching my kids. So, instead he promised me a Saturday night movie together (in the living room). It's not dinner out, but it is time together alone (as long as they both sleep through the night.)
I guess one of the biggest lessons that I have learned since having kids is how to adapt. I was very excited to get out of the house together and enjoy a meal and each others' company. But if that is not an option, there's always a Plan B. Even with work and life and work out, if I cannot do something, I'll do something else. With that, I think I am at the point where I have accepted that I am unable to run the NYC Marathon in 20-something days. (See, I even stopped counting down.) Rest assured though, that I will be running NYC 2012. And I may even pick something in the Spring if I am feeling up to par soon. I may even cancel my registration today... hmmm... maybe tomorrow.
So, plan B... well, I bought the Groupon for the 3-month gym membership and then my neighbor (who had a baby in August) decided to get it as well. I am not going to wait for her every time I need to go to the gym, but it will be cool to have someone to go with sometimes, maybe to a class or something. Since I cannot run, I am going to continue upping my time on the elliptical for cardio and start hitting the weights again. (I had laid off the heavy weights over the last 1-2 months with marathon training.)
I did get a welcomed surprise today! I won the giveaway over at Amy's blog. Woo Hoo! Go me! I won a beautiful piece of Scott James jewelry. Check out her blog. She is awesome and not just cuz she gave me free stuff!
**Do you always have a plan b? Examples?
** Won anything today?
