Thursday's Legend... wait for it... dary!

I never got to run yesterday.  I had to go home since Hubby is painting the inside of the house this week.  Too much going on at once.  A full home-cooked dinner was out of the question because of the condition of the house.  In lieu of take-out (read: awaiting pay day), I pulled together something for the kiddies and the Hubby had something leftover.  I took that opportunity to go fresh, healthy and easy for me.  I made a yummy salad with fresh spinach, grapes tomatoes, onion, LOTS of goat cheese (my favorite) and I broiled a Morningstar spicy black bean burger and cut it up into pieces.  It was yummy and pretty so I took a pic to share.  Then we watched the season premiere of How I Met Your Mother  - best show!
Don't even ask what's on the table next to it.  This home improvement has everything piled everywhere.  I think it's the Wii holder.
So, I got up this morning and I ran.  It was the threshold run that I didn't get to do yesterday.
It literally took me 20 minutes how to figure out how to get this  picture uploaded to my blog. - So please check my splits :)
I had the most problem trying to stay paced.  I was supposed to do 2 mile warm up, 6 x 800 @ 9:20 pace (4:36 for the 800) with 1:15 recovery between each 800 and then 1 m cool down.  I kept running too fast and then when I tried to slow down a little, I went too slow.  The good thing about these runs is that I am working and thinking the whole time and don't think about the fact that I am running hard.  However, it's an awful lot of thinking before 5 am.  I almost lost count of my 800's.  I did however fix my Garmin so that I have .5 mile splits so I only have to watch the time during the 1:15 recovery.  I am learning that my Garmin can do so much more than I have ever done with it.  Well worth Hubby's hard earned money.  Thanks boo! Love ya!  Best gift ever.

Then I rolled it out.  Re: the background see above picture caption. :)

At lunch, (after I drafted the above) I headed up to Jack Rabbit on the Upper East Side to snatch an aqua "I Heart Sweat" shirt before they were no more.  Ali (awesome blog - if you don't read it, you should!) will be running her marathon on Sunday so this was the last chance to get one.  On the train I realized that I also needed to pick up my bib for the 18 Mile Tune Up @ NY Road Runners Club.  Win Win!  I actually saw one of my other favorite bloggers there, Theodora there.  She was getting her "+1" in by doing bib distribution for the Fifth Avenue Mile.  I stopped to say hello to her and then ran back to the train to get back down to work.

So, the moral of the day is... you run, you have a good day.  (So far at least)

With that I leave you with yet another picture of my baby girl to make your day, like she does mine.

She was literally saying "Cheeeseeee"

Do you have a better day when you run?
Do you watch How I Met Your Mother?
Do you get excited to meet other bloggers?  I know it's nerdy, but I do.
Are you sick of my kids' pics yet?
