More Running = Less Cranky

It's a simple equation.  If Jen runs, she is happier.  Even if Jen's leg hurts while she runs and she then has a crazy day at work and beyond, she is still happier than if she doesn't run.

That said, I ran this morning.  I felt bad about the crankiness yesterday, so I got up and got moving at 4:40 this morning.  I ran at a decent pace although my right leg is now hurting and I cannot pinpoint the issue.  The whole leg seems to be unhappy although I think it's the lower half.  (How's that for a medical diagnosis?)  After just over 4 miles, I dipped the legs in my cold pool (aka big ice bath) for a few minutes and then stretched and foam rolled.  I even looked up some stretches to make sure I was doing everything I can do to fix this leg.  Gotta love Coolrunning.com!

I also had a Muscle Milk "slurpee."  When I poured the muscle milk over ice, I realized that I didn't shake it well enough so I put it in the blender and made my version of a slurpee.  Take that 7-11!

It was good too!
By the time I jumped in the shower, I had 9 minutes before I had to wake up my son to get him ready for school.  People must think that I'm crazy that I get up at 4:30 a.m. and still look this unpolished when I get to work. Oh well, they should be lucky I make the time to shower. :)
How much can you do in 9 minutes?
Well, I showered, dressed and the ponytail I wear just about everyday. :)
People must think I never wash my hair. I swear I do... sometimes.
Anyway, I know no one cares about my day.  Just cute pictures of my kids and I aim to please so, here's the little one this morning.  Eating her cheerios and watching Elmo

I want her life :)
Do you get cranky when you don't run?
Do you run through injury/soreness?
How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
How cute is my daughter's sleepy morning face? (sorry, can't help it.)

  1. Gorgeous daughter! I work from home, so waking up = ready. Ponytails are worn 99.9% of my life!
